Felty Campfire and Marshmallows

My kiddos love having a fire, and that occasional treat: roasting marshmallows. Everything about a campfire appeals to them: the outdoors, the mystery of the fire, experimenting to see what burns, telling stories, singing songs, and roasting marshmallows. How fun it has been for them to pretend play with a felt campfire and marshmallows!

For this craft, you will need 5 felt colors: light brown, creme, white, orange, and yellow. A white or creme embroidery thread handles most of the work (don’t forget embroidery needles!), and a dark brown is nice to add some wood patterning to the fire logs. The marshmallows, logs, and fire all have a bit of polyfil as well. Grab a couple of paint brushes or pencils for the sticks, and that’s all you need!

Add a few battery powered tea lights under the flame at night for a brilliant effect!

The marshmallows have a smaller inner ring so they can fit on the stick. One side has the opening of the hole and the opposite side is a circle with no cut-out (so the stick doesn’t go all the way through).
