This book appealed to me on so many levels. Exotic fruit, growing fruit, and traveling are all pieces of The Fruit Hunters that grabbed me. Any kind of obsession is fascinating to observe. Those truly obsessed with a hobby or passion tend to be some of the more interesting human beings, with oddities and quirks that just cannot be fabricated.

In The Fruit Hunters, Adam Gollner travels around the globe, seeking out people passionate about fruit, getting himself into some strange situations, and ultimately uncovering some dirty little secrets behind the fruit industry. The book read like a nonfiction thriller, an adventure book for those who want to learn something while being entertained.

I enjoyed reading the 2008 version in hard cover, and rather enjoyed the artwork on the cover of the older edition. You can find that print on amazon in used books.
