Instead of buying plastic eggs this year, I made these lovely felted easter eggs with a pocket. I don’t like to give my kids too much candy on holidays, so when we hide eggs for easter only 2 pieces of small candy goes into each egg. We also have adopted a tradition of “no-candy” Easter baskets. We find other things like legos and books.
These felted eggs were very simple to make. I wanted to hand sew the back and front of each egg piece together, but time did not allow, so I used a machine with a zigzag stitch. Cut the zigzag opening of the front pieces out before you sew them to the back pieces.
