Toxic ratings on your personal products

I recently stumbled upon a cosmetic website that tested and rated the toxicity level of household products and personal care products. My partner and I had recently switched from toxic cleaners and personal products to organic, all natural, no chemical products. Toothpaste proved to be the most difficult to find a replacement that actually worked, but for most of them, we enjoyed switching to products that contained less ingredients and nothing we couldn’t pronounce.

The only product I have yet to toss in the trash and replace is my Mascara. At Skin Deep I entered the name: Big Fatty Mascara by Urban Decay and gasped as a toxcitiy rating of 7 out of 10 showed up on my computer.  I tossed that stick in the trash and put “WholeFoods” on my list of errands.  I made a list of the “zero toxic” options and headed to the store in search of a beauty stick without poisons.
