1) Religion is where self help and science fiction got mixed together.
2) As science disproves portions of the bible over time, Christians are forced to push their beliefs into a foggier and more abstract realm. A majority of Christians today practice the burger king version: “as you like it” – goody goody religion. “God is Love” is the embodiment of the type of religion to which I refer. If God is love, does that mean I just created him/her last night?
3) Most major religions are based on a person receiving a revelation of special information which is accepted by it’s followers without proof. Scientology, Mormonism, Christianity and Judaism are all based on one person’s account of their vision or hallucination where they were given special information by an angel or alien.
4) Isn’t it interesting how all near death experiences result in the survivor saying the religion they died believing in is what they saw when they “died”. You never hear of a Hindu coming back and saying he saw Jesus or a Catholic coming back and saying she saw Buddha. Either they are all lying or there is more than one god: or more likely their brain experienced something different than it has ever known and coped by producing a self hallucination as it was in the process of shutting down.
